The sound is simply spectacular, lots of bass and great power (since it contains its own amplifier). And with the newly released iPhone 3.0 Operating System which supports Bluetooth Stereo you do not need to buy an adapter like the TMR-BT8IP (actually if you have the iPhone 3.0 with the OS 3.0 do not use the adapter because it causes conflicts). The only downside I've seen so far is that with some MP3s mastered at 320kbps the sound is cut off when there is silence (something very common in classical music) but this was happening when I had the BT8IP, now without the BT8IP I've not experienced this issue yet. I usually don't write reviews but this one deserves it.
I feel I could wear these for hours. WOW. Pairing was easy. The search continues.
It will NOT maintain the connection. It's not worth having to pair each time I use, so Amazon and Sony will get them back. After each time I power off I have to pair again. I will recommend to anyone that will listen.Oh, and Amazon service was awesome, as usual.Update after 2 days (attempted) use.
After examining with magnifier it was easier. Played some of my most demanding music (LTJ Bukem) and it made the grade with A+. Far better than I expected. Sound quality is amazing.
My last pair (motorola behind head) were VERY uncomfortable. Controls are hard to get used to. Very comfortable.
I was also able to easily pair with Blackberry but the sound quality was Ok. I originally purchased these for recording using Garage band on my mac. I would say for half the price a good set of wired cans would do the job better and with less hassle. Not worth the 100+ price tag and think it maybe should have come with a bluetooth adapter for ipod or Computer "Dongle" (I like that word, LOL) as well. It seems as though the latency from the bluetooth speed is making this impossible. I was able to pair this with the mac relatively easily after turning off the headset functionality and got decent sound quality from Itunes but when it came to attempting to record music with them there was at best a second and a half delay between what the computer was playing and what I was hearing.
A waste of money and a big waste of time. The Sony DRBT50 won't stay linked to the MP3 bluetooth signal generated by my Motorola Adventure V750 phone. They will link at initial set-up (pairing) but the MP3 link is droped after recieving a phone call and the MP3 signal won't link up again unless the phone and the Sony DRBT50 are paired over again. The bluetooth phone link works as advertised. The bluetooth MP3 link does not work as advertised.
But its not a huge problem and the sound quality and comfort of these headphones make up for the low battery life.Great value, great sound, great range and comfortable. On a full charge they will last about 2hrs, this is not bad, but when your watching a movie over 2 hrs they can cut out and cause slight annoyance. I have recently purchased a pair of Sony DRBT50 headphones and i am so far very impressed with the sound, ease of use and wireless range. The only problem is the battery life.
